January 1, 2026
1 min read

Climate change and global warming issues are becoming increasingly important for businesses aiming to create environmentally-friendly solutions for future generations, including in the construction industry. The ‘green’ construction concept has gained popularity among developers in Indonesia, with recognized leaders like PT Cemindo Gemilang Tbk and its subsidiary Beton Merah Putih. Their use of Carbon Injection technology, implemented since 2024, significantly reduces the carbon footprint of concrete without compromising its quality. Operational Director Ahmad Syamsuddin notes that transitioning to sustainable construction technologies is only possible with the support of all stakeholders. Industry figures, like Yudhistira from the Indonesian Concrete Company Association, emphasize the importance of such technologies for the entire sector. At the forefront is HIERA in BSD City, where the technology has already been successfully applied, demonstrating its practical benefits. This innovation shows huge potential for transforming the entire construction industry in the country, especially with prospects of expanding to strategic projects. The widespread support for innovative solutions also holds economic benefits: Indonesia is striving to become a leader in global ‘green’ transformation. The strength and market indicate high chances of success, with more than 90% of concrete players in the Batam area adopting similar technologies, showcasing the future industrial direction.
