Empowering Youth under Indonesia's Chairmanship in D-8

During Indonesia’s chairmanship of the Developing Eight (D-8) in 2026–2027, a major focus is on empowering the youth. This was highlighted at the Bakohumas Thematic Forum held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta, where strategic directions and public communication were discussed to amplify Indonesia’s influence internationally and domestically. The forum emphasized the crucial role of youth in diplomacy, economy, and innovation. In collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Indonesia aims to foster youth initiatives within the D-8 framework. The focus is on how these initiatives can have a tangible local impact, including positive changes for farmers and small business actors. Additionally, collaboration was mentioned with other ministries such as the Ministry of Trade, Tourism, and Creative Economy.
