John Herdman Appointed as Coach of Indonesia's National Team

John Herdman has been officially appointed as the coach of Indonesia’s national football team. This appointment marks a new era for Indonesian football. Herdman stated that he will spend significant time immersing himself in Indonesian culture and traditions to build a deeper connection with the team and fans. Previously working in England, New Zealand, and North America, Herdman replaces Patrick Kluivert, who left the position after losses to Iraq and Saudi Arabia in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. His first challenge will be preparing the team for FIFA matches in March 2026.
