Healthcare Sector Dominates Jakarta Property Market

According to the latest report by CBRE Indonesia, the healthcare sector in Jakarta shows impressive performance, holding a leading position in the property market for three consecutive years. In 2025, 48% of all property assets in Jakarta are occupied by the healthcare sector, including life sciences and medical offices. This trend is projected to continue in 2026 with a 37% share.
Factors contributing to this growth include the aging population, the rise of the middle class, and government support post-pandemic, particularly in the production of medicines and vaccines. The medical tourism sector further fuels property demand, as Indonesia aims to develop its healthcare ecosystem. Government policies also seek to attract more investment in healthcare.
A similar trend is observed in the education sector, which previously faced a brain drain to neighboring countries. However, investments in infrastructure and twinning programs have increased local demand for educational institutions.
CBRE consultants emphasize that given the rising demand for medical services, significant expansion of the sector is expected in the coming years.
