PSSI DIY Committee Investigates 'Kung-Fu Kick' Incident in UAD FC vs Kafi Jogja FC Match
At the beginning of 2026, the Indonesian football league once again found itself at the center of attention. This time, the cause was an incident that occurred during a match between UAD FC and Kafi Jogja FC as part of the DIY Provincial League 4 (Governor’s Cup DIY) 2025/2026. During the game, held at the Sitimulyo Stadium in the Piyungan area, Bantul, on January 6th, a controversial moment took place when Kafi Jogja FC player, Dwi Aan, raised his leg too high, resembling a kung-fu kick.
The Disciplinary Committee of the DIY Provincial PSSI Association, led by Umar Senoadji, took the incident seriously and stated that a thorough investigation would be conducted. “We will delve into this case using video footage to determine the intentionality or unintentionality of the player’s action. Thus, we will make a decision regarding the penalty,” he stated.
Nevertheless, according to Umar, it is clear that the player’s action deserved a red card punishment. Additionally, the committee intends to conduct an evaluation of the refereeing of this match.
The coach of Kafi Jogja FC expressed profound apologies for the incident, stating that the team strives to maintain high standards of fair play and ensure safety in its matches.

The Disciplinary Committee emphasized that it will not tolerate any actions that harm the spirit of fair play in football and expressed hope for the comprehensive cooperation of all competition participants.
