Indonesia Strengthens Digital Integration of Hajj and Umrah with Saudi Arabia

The pilgrimage of Indonesian worshippers to the Holy Land in Mecca gains a more modern and secure outlook through efforts for digital integration between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. In 2026, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah unveiled a program aimed at enhancing services and ensuring pilgrims’ safety through digital system integration. This will be achieved by synchronizing visa data, accommodation, and health services. The program aims to ensure the complete safety and comfort of pilgrims during their stay in Saudi Arabia. Moch Irfan Yusuf, Indonesia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to improving these services at the Saudi-Indonesian Umrah Co.Exchange forum in Mecca. “System integration will minimize administrative barriers and provide pilgrims with a seamless and secure experience throughout their visit,” Yusuf added. The program also aims to facilitate more transparent contract management for services using the Nusuk Masar platform. The goal is to modernize processes and avoid delays stemming from technical or administrative setbacks. Indonesia has also proposed a more flexible approach to visa replacements for pilgrims unable to make the journey to maximize quota usage. The Minister emphasized the importance of a cashless digital approach for fines and fees payments to enhance safety and efficiency. In the long term, this initiative is expected to strengthen emergency response and improve overall management efficiency. It is a significant step towards more modern and protected Hajj management, endorsed by the governments of both countries.
