5 European Countries Visa-Free for Indonesian Passport Holders January 2026

In January 2026, it was announced that five European countries have granted visa-free entry to Indonesian citizens. This has become a significant step for Indonesian passport holders looking to expand their travels within Europe. According to Visa Index, four of these countries - Albania, Belarus, Serbia, and Turkey - have completely lifted the visa requirement. Azerbaijan, on the other hand, requires a visa on arrival, making travel conditions easier, as visas can be obtained directly at airports or border entry points.
This move facilitates travel for Indonesian citizens, opening up new possibilities for cultural exchange and business. It is noteworthy that the visa-free entry possibilities differ for each country, as does the duration of stay. Indonesians should carefully review the regulations of each country.
Besides these developments, Europe’s borders are also open through the Schengen visa, which provides the freedom to travel within the countries belonging to this zone without obtaining a separate visa for each state.
Indonesian passport holders can freely travel to 44 countries without a visa and have access to 29 countries with the visa on arrival option. This indicates a rapid growth in opportunities for Indonesian travelers.
