Minister of Tourism Emphasizes the Importance of Cleanliness at Tourist Sites

During a meeting in Jakarta, Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana emphasized the pressing need to maintain cleanliness at tourist sites. She stated that environmental responsibility is integral to enhancing Indonesia’s tourism industry’s image and competitiveness. Speaking at a ‘Clean Ocean’ event in Kedonganan, Bali, she stressed that waste management should be addressed collectively, with efforts from all societal segments. The Ministry of Tourism is actively promoting the Clean Tourism initiative, aimed at raising awareness and public participation in environmental management. With support from Bali’s government, the Ministry of Environment, and local communities, this event demonstrated how different sectors could work together to achieve a common goal - preserving natural attractions. All participants were urged to engage in waste management initiatives, which the Ministry asserts are the foundation for developing a high-quality and sustainable tourism infrastructure.
