Kia Reinforces EV Technology Foundation in Indonesia

Kia Sales Indonesia is reinforcing its commitment to developing and strengthening the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in Indonesia as part of its long-term electrification strategy. The focus of this development includes the readiness of EV technology and expansion of the product portfolio to meet the needs of the Indonesian market.
“Indonesia is a significant market for Kia. In bringing EVs to the market, we aim to ensure that technological readiness, product quality, and ownership experience progress in harmony with the growth of market electrification,” said Bayu Riyanto, Managing Director of Kia Sales Indonesia.
Globally, Kia employs the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) for the development of various vehicle segments, including passenger and family cars. This allows optimal weight distribution and enhances driving stability and comfort.
Plan S is the foundation of Kia’s electrification transition, focusing on the global business transformation by strengthening the EV portfolio and investing in technology development.
In Indonesia, Kia adapts this approach considering market readiness, consumer characteristics, and automotive ecosystem developments. The company’s strategy is directed at delivering vehicles that not only meet technological demands but also address the mobility needs of Indonesian society, especially in the family vehicle segment like MPVs.
