In 2026, Indonesia is set to host another round of the Indonesia Masters badminton tournament, scheduled to take place from January 20 to 25 at the historic Istora Gelora Bung Karno complex. This initiative is aimed at reigniting public passion for badminton, which is the mission of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI). PBSI chairman Fadil Imran noted that in recent years, public enthusiasm for the sport has diminished, linked to a temporary decline in Indonesian badminton achievements. He emphasized the importance of a positive atmosphere and cultural interaction brought by such events. To achieve this goal, a range of activities will be organized to engage the audience, including entertainment and cultural events around the sports complex. The main organizer of the tournament, Achmad Budiharto, highlighted that Indonesia Masters 2026 will be a professionally staged world-class event marking the union of passion, history, and achievements associated with badminton in Indonesia. The tournament is expected not only to strengthen the generational link with badminton but also to inspire youth to embrace sport as a part of a healthy lifestyle. Preparations for the event are underway with a high level of professionalism, involving coordination with various stakeholders to ensure the tournament runs optimally.
