Persik Kediri vs PSIM Yogyakarta Match Relocated to Gresik
Due to previous incidents involving supporters in 2019, the match between Persik Kediri and PSIM Yogyakarta, originally scheduled for February 13, 2026, has been relocated to Gresik. Tri Widodo, head of the organizing committee, announced that local authorities denied security permits for the game to be held in Kediri. Facing time constraints, the teams considered various options and finally settled on a venue in Gresik. Although an earlier proposal to host the game without spectators was also rejected, the decision to move aims to lower the risk of potential issues. Previously, Persik has played ‘away home’ games against Madura United and Persebaya Surabaya. Now, yet again, they face the challenge of playing as hosts outside their familiar grounds, which could be a disadvantage. However, Persik remains favored, though PSIM could pull off some surprises. Historically, matches between these teams have been fiercely contested.
