Indonesia Aims for 5.6% Economic Growth in 2026

At the Indonesia Economic Outlook 2026 event in Jakarta, Indonesia’s Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, outlined ambitious targets for the country’s GDP growth reaching 5.4% to 5.6% in 2026. This forecast hinges on strengthening four priority economic sectors: agriculture, manufacturing, digital technology, and energy. Hartarto believes these sectors will ensure a sustainable economic lift-off in the next two years. The minister also highlighted the contributions of President Prabowo’s programs, including free nutritious meals, local cooperative development, and the construction of three million homes. Hartarto emphasizes the need for structural reforms and streamlined bureaucracy to achieve these goals.
