Wamenbud Supports Art and Culture Masters

Indonesia’s Vice Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha Djumaryo, announced plans to support outstanding cultural figures. This statement came following the 9th edition of the ‘Panggung Maestro’ festival held in Jakarta. The event has already led to improvements in housing conditions for some of these masters and updates to equipment such as musical instruments. The vice minister emphasized that further coordination and assessments will help ensure more targeted support for these masters, many of whom are elderly. The ‘Panggung Maestro’ festival is conducted in cooperation with various government agencies and cultural foundations, underscoring the importance of cultural support in the country. The significance of this event lies in the promotion of traditional Indonesian art and the transfer of knowledge to younger generations. By preserving cultural heritage, authorities aim for these arts and cultures to gain recognition not only nationally but also globally. The event brought together masters from Bali and Sumatra, who showcased national dances and music. Moreover, the importance of intergenerational knowledge exchange is highlighted to preserve Indonesia’s cultural diversity. This approach promotes sustainability in the cultural sector and strengthens national identity, contributing to the international recognition of Indonesian art.
