BSI's Custodian Business Grows 34%, Assets Under Management Reach Rp125 Trillion

Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI) is showing remarkable growth in its custodian services, with assets under management reaching Rp125 trillion, a 34% increase compared to the previous year. This growth reflects the rising popularity of sharia financial products and the strengthening of the sharia ecosystem in the Indonesian capital market.
BSI’s CEO, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, emphasized the bank’s commitment to developing innovative sharia services for various customer segments, including custodian services, which have become a critical chain in growing the halal financial ecosystem. Cahyo highlighted that increasing interest in sharia financial products and changing public preferences contribute to BSI’s success.
Data from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority (OJK) supports this trend, showing a 21% increase in sharia investors throughout 2024. Fundamental changes in societal preferences, which have become more rational, and the perception of functional advantages of sharia banks are driving these outcomes.
Additionally, BSI continues to enhance its custodian services, including asset safekeeping, fund services, and distribution of sharia investment products. Awards such as ‘Best Shariah Custodian Bank in Indonesia 2023’ and ‘Best Islamic Custody Bank 2024’ confirm international recognition of BSI’s achievements.
