Indonesian Government Implements 'Work From Anywhere' for Lebaran 2026

The Indonesian government has officially announced the implementation of the ‘Work From Anywhere’ (WFA) policy during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period. This initiative aims to enhance public mobility and maintain work productivity. According to the new policy, employees can work from any convenient location on March 16-17 and 25-27, 2026.

This measure has been introduced to alleviate the strain on transportation systems during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations. By introducing a flexible work schedule, traffic congestion can be reduced, providing a more even distribution of people flows.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, emphasized that WFA offers flexibility in workday management, but does not add extra days off. Employers must ensure that workers can continue fulfilling their duties under these new conditions.

In addition to civil servants, this policy also applies to private sector workers. However, implementation depends on the internal policies of each company. Employees using WFA retain all their leave rights, including wage payments.

The government expects this policy to improve traffic flows and sustain economic growth in the first quarter of 2026.
