The views of Abdul Fikri Faqih, a member of Indonesia’s House of Representatives Commission X, on revising the National Education System Law are clear: it plays a crucial role in preserving cultural values through education. Fikri highlights the importance of this revision in maintaining cultural integration as an inseparable part of education despite the emergence of separate ministries.

After attending the 2025 cultural event, Fikri shared his thoughts on the significance of cultural heritage as a foundation for the country’s future. He argues that Indonesian culture should be more prominent within the country, maintaining its spiritual values without contradicting modern norms.

Fikri also advocates that changes within ministries should be a catalyst for focusing on the cultural sector, emphasizing that the country’s progress largely depends on respecting its cultural roots. “The better we preserve cultural heritage, the stronger the nation becomes,” he says.
