UNICEF Indonesia: PP Tunas Becomes Legal Framework to Protect Children in the Digital Space

UNICEF Indonesia has praised the role of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology in establishing a legal foundation to protect children in the digital space through the introduction of PP Tunas regulation. At the CommuniAction event in Malang, UNICEF Child Protection Specialist Naning Puji Julianingsih emphasized the importance of implementing this regulation to ensure it is not merely a formal document. She pointed out the high level of children’s interaction with the internet, with an average usage time of 5.4 hours per day. UNICEF focuses on protecting children from digital threats such as online exploitation and abuse. The event attracted over 300 participants, including youth and government representatives, highlighting the importance of collaboration in creating a safe digital environment for children in Indonesia.
