In 2025, KAI Wisata, a subsidiary of PT Kereta Api Indonesia, reported an impressive 92.84% growth compared to the same period last year. From January to September 2025, the service catered to 60,384 passengers, significantly higher than the 31,313 clients in 2024. Vice President of Public Relations KAI, Anne Purba, emphasized that this signifies the growing popularity of exclusive train travel experiences. July 2025 witnessed the highest traffic with 9,813 passengers due to school holidays and the festive season. KAI offers a wide range of classes and themed trains, including Nusantara, Bali, and Toraja, making each journey special. Growing interest is also driving the KA Panoramic, which attracted 105,460 clients by September 2025. These figures confirm that experiential travel is becoming an integral part of vacationing.
